Chinese New Year

This is a picture taken at Ivy's orphanage last week. We have done multiple picture comparisons, and we are all in agreement that Ivy is the baby in yellow...so cute!!! They were celebrating Chinese New Year and because of this, everything/everyone takes a holiday. Therefore, we are STILL waiting for our travel approval. Once we get that we will be weeks away from traveling. We did receive an update on weight and length. At 7 months, she was: 25 inches long and 17 pounds. Of course, as you can see they have several layers of clothing (sometimes up to 7 layers-no heat in the orphanage) and are most likely weighed in their clothes. This certaily takes me back 5 years when we came home with Gift at 14 months old and only 17 pounds.

  1. 7 layers!! She is not going to know what to do with the sensory stimulation her skin will get when she hits SE TX weather! You MUST take pictures of the first time those little feet hit grass!
I bet they won't let you bring her basket back to the US. Too bad. Cute memoir. Plus it would hold a lot of dolls.
