PRAYERS PLEASE!!!

Ok friends. No pics on this post...it aint pretty here. I am asking for everyone to pray for Ivy. She is very unhappy, won't eat or drink and is just very confused. We need prayers for peace for her and us. She needs to start eating and drinking and needs a good night's rest--so do I!!! Remember Gifty too. She is hungry (doesn't like anything we put in front of her) and the staring is a bit weird!!! Chinese people have obviously never seen a brown person before! Thanks again for the prayers and I'll post pics tomorrow when we're all happy!

I will be praying for your every need!! I know that time sure does help a whole lot but it is the "Now" that you are living. I will be praying for the "Now" to get better!!!
I will enjoy following your journey.
    God bless,

  2. Rice balls? Duck Nuggets?? Do they have cereal in the hotel? Fruit? Maybe Daddy and Ronnie can go out tomorrow on a mini-market excursion to see if they can find anything recognizable for GW. She could live on granola bars if you could find any! Where are the McDonalds? I though China had everything! Maybe back in the Big City.
And Ivy-- ??? try putting anything that she had on/with her from the orphanage-- a blanket, her t-shirt-- over your chest when you hold her to feed her so she has a familiar smell around her. My friend (that was babysitting a breast fed baby that would not eat from her)- did this with one of mom's tshirts-- and even covered her face for the first few feeds-- until he got used to her feeding him. Can she hold the bottle herself? Obviously, in normal circumstances, you wouldn't let her eat to sleep-- but I would definitely think this time is the exception to the rule.

    Praying for you guys!

  4. Dear Jesus, We thank you and praise you for this family that you put together. Please bring peace to all of them now. Please comfort Ashley and confirm to her that You are in control and that this situation is not a surprise to You. Please satiate Gift and give her an extra measure of grace to make it through this trip. Please strengthen Marcus so that he can be the strength this family needs right now. Please give them rest and joy.

We love you all and I am in constant prayer for you!

  5. Hey girl, we are praying for you! As for the staring, it's a cultural thing. When I went they stared at white people too. Sometimes they'll get really close to listen to you talk. They don't have the personal boundaries we do. Does Gift like sweet and sour chicken? That's what I lived on. In some towns you can find a McDonald's.
Can't wait to meet your new addition!

  6. We will pray for much needed rest for all of you. It won't take long for Ivy to realize and accept the love that surrounds her. Until then, we hope and pray for that much needed sleep to face a new day.
    We love you all,
    Aunt Elaine and Uncle David

  7. Ash, Marcus, Gift and Ivy,

This is Tom - Abby's husband. I know how difficult this must be for you, and we're all praying for you. I wish we were there with you instead of being two weeks behind!
