Waiting in Chicago

We've made it on the first and shortest leg of the trip. We're in Chicago waiting on our flight. The adventure started at 2:30 this morning waking up and heading to the airport. As you can see, Gift is exhausted. This is Marcus with Sleeping Beauty and Flat Stanley. For those of you who don't know Flat Stanley, let me introduce you to him. This is a children's book about a little boy who gets flattened by a bulletin board. Since he is flat, he gets to go on lots of adventures. So...Gift's 1st grade class are all taking their Flat Stanley's on Spring Break. You'll be seeing him some on the trip.
After we got to the airport, we made it through security with only one minor glitch...Papa's artificial knee kept setting off the security alarm. He was searched with the magic wand and they found him to be no major threat to the flight. So, here we sit in Chicago waiting to leave. Prayer request for now: that we'll have an uneventful and restful flight. See you in China!!

  1. Yaaahoooooo! You weren't lyin' about keeping up with the blog! Amazing how much time you have when you aren't constantly playing with Gift, laundry, dishes, meal prep... Love The Adventures of Flat Stanley. I am betting that he will have a cooler tale to tell than any of his partners.

Tell GW to perk up so she can sleep for 15 hours on that next flight...

    xoxo

  5. Jon and I have been thinking of you all day-wondering where, what time, etc. you are. I love flat Stanley!!!! What great timing. From experience-foreign travel with Ronnie is always an adventure. Praying for you every chance I get. Love to you all! Terri
BTW-Will had to have all the Ivy details while we were at the airport yesterday. He is psyched that she is about the same age/size as John Denver. He spent a good portion of our trip comparing her to his stuffed raccoon-???
