Nearly 12 hours after we received her--and after we'd been asleep for only an hour tonight--Ivy conceded defeat to the strange folks who've taken her captive and drank her first bottle, finishing off 8 oz. of warm, gooey liquid in record Chinese time.
(I'm strictly providing moral support this evening and getting a feel for how all this stuff works in case I'm unexpectedly summoned to duty.)
After feeding, Ivy smiled several times and interacted with us playfully.
Ashleigh's now walking around the room singing and humming, and I'm about to succumb to her spell and fall out of this chair.
Man, that girl can sing a lullaby.

Tell dad that I am having to handle some Campground cemetery stuff while yall are gone. The Keri girl at Jodi's office, her grandfather died and he is suppose to be buried out there. I am meeting Eugene Yeates at noon to mark the plot.

ReplyDeleteGreat news. I came back to your blog to comment on your previous post, but it sounds like Ivy is making some progress. We're continuing to pray for strength for you, understanding for Gift, and comfort and peace for precious little Ivy as she begins her adjustment.

I know those sleepless nights are hard, but in the end we wouldn't trade them for anything, huh:)? Hang in there, she will soon realize how LUCKY she is to have such an amazing fam!! ReplyDeleteWe are so happy for you all! Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers all the time. Tell Gift that Haley, Maggy, and Miley are loving every minute of this and always ask about Gift. Miley passed a baby in an snuggli and told us it was baby Ivy...so sweet!
You have overcome a major hurdle with the bottle. Just continue to have faith and all will be well...and perfect! She is absolutely beautiful and worth every minute of it. We can't wait to see more pictures...hopefully by the end of the week it will be more smiles! Love you all!!
